SO Player Removed From App Store

This article addresses the SO Player removed from the app store issue that many individuals are inquiring about. Truthfully, your guess is as good as mine as to why it was removed from the Apple Play Store. Did the developer remove the app or did Apple remove it? When SOPlayer was there, it made it possible to download the app from the internal app store on Apple/iOS devices.

It was there for several years. But you can still find/download/install the app from the Google Play Store including smart TVs with built-in app stores, and other compatible devices.

Don’t think the SO Play app designed by Sergio Junior in the Apple Play Store is the app you’re looking for. If you are trying to download the app for iOS/Apple/iOS, you’re just out of luck. Read about the SO Player alternative for iPhone.

SOPlayer can no longer be found or downloaded from the Apple Play Store to iOS/Apple devices. You use one of the Replacement IPTVs further down using a very similar app.

What to Do…

Rather than go further into details about the SO Player removed from the app store issue, there’s no point in wasting any more time on it. This looks to be permanent. Instead, I’m going to talk about a replacement app that you will like.

A new TV app has surfaced online where some SO Player merchants have already made the switch after the SOPlayer Apple Store issue. It’s called the LUX Player app that works on a similar platform as SO Player.

Like SO Player, you need an IPTV service subscription to activate and use LUX Player to watch TV online. They provide the activation/login credentials such as the 4 Device PIN codes, Username, and Password. But there’s no Provider ID needed. At least not when I tested it during the latter part of 2022.

I usually tell individuals they must first find the ideal IPTV service that supports the app before installing it. It’s maddening when installing a TV app and then trying to find the IPTV service that supports it. There may not be one. Since you have me pointing you to the ideal IPTV service for LUX Player, you can go ahead and install it now on your Apple/iOS device.

Replacement IPTV Services with App Very Similar to SO Player IPTVs

Ideal for Apple/iOS & Roku Device Users

I’m giving you a few LUX Player IPTVs. Choose one and put the others somewhere for safekeeping when needed. Just like SO Player IPTVs, once they reach the maximum number of customers, they close the doors to new customers.

The IPTVs below are from the same ownership. They have the same everything and come with free trials. I recommend that you bookmark/save each one. You can always switch to another if needed and still use LUX Player.

NOTE: Also compatible with iOS/Apple devices

Click any link above to visit the IPTV service website. Again, each IPTV belongs to the same IPTV merchant so there is no need to think about which one is better. All of them have the same everything; You will use the LUX Player app for Apple/iOS or any compatible device.

LUX Player vs SO Player and Apple-iOS Devices

LUX Player performs the same way as SO Player. The IPTV service that supports the app delivers the same streaming content. LUX Player IPTVs use the same type of IP Lock system, meaning you can’t change your IP address. You cannot use a VPN service that hides/changes your IP address.

The compatible devices for both apps are the same and connect up to 4 devices simultaneously. However, LUX Player is compatible with Roku whereas SO Player is not. You can find the LUX Player app in the Apple Play Store Here.

As for the SO Player removed from the app store issue, you now have a solution or replacement which is LUX Player. Without further ado, I cover some things about the LUX Player IPTV service and what you get. You pretty much get the same amount of live channels and VODs to watch your favorites online.

Additional Info…

I encourage you to watch the videos–see the links above. You will look over my shoulders and watch me demonstrate the LUX Player app on Firestick and Roku. This also includes seeing live and VOD streams play. I have not tested the app on any Apple/iOS device yet.

In Closing…

You can find LUX Player in the Apple Play Store to install on your device. Just choose one of the IPTVs above–see the links. You will sign up, subscribe, or enter into the free trial to get the activation for LUX Player. Then you will be able to watch your favorites online.

The SO Player removed from the app store should not pose a problem for iOS/Apple device users anymore. Install LUX Player, you won’t hardly notice a difference once inside that app. Search for it in your device’s internal app store. Next, you will need to choose one of the LUX IPTV services above to sign up, subscribe, and activate the app to watch Internet TV. Enjoy!
