You might find a solution here for SO Player not working on your compatible device which also includes Firestick and Fire TV devices. Still, the best thing to do is contact your IPTV service which means revisiting the IPTV website where you signed up and have an account.
When channels and/or VODs are working/playing some individuals call this not working. In this case, it’s not the app’s fault. This is the IPTV service where you pay your money. If you haven’t done this yet, then the issue is with you. I provided links below to sign up for an IPTV service supporting SO Player.
I also provided links for LUX Player IPTV services that support the same devices but also Roku and iOS/Apple devices.
The information provided below is more general and relates to all compatible streaming devices. The SOPlayer not working can be related to any streaming device or smart TV where this app is installed.
UPDATE: SO Player Error EC21
The SOPlayer error EC21 continues to rise after two IPTV services closed down during the latter part of December 2022. If you are a former Clear Fire TV or eFire TV subscriber and are experiencing the SO Player EC21 issue, I’ll help you understand what’s going on. There is a solution that will get you back on track to resume watching your favorites online. See the ‘Errors & Fixes’ section further down.
The SO Player error EC21 isn’t the app’s fault. It’s doing what it’s supposed to do. It’s not broken. But you will need to contact the IPTV service where you paid to subscribe. If the IPTV service is no longer in service, I have plan B for you. Scroll down and read the Errors & Fixes >> SOPlayer Error EC21 or SO Player EC21.

The article resumes here…
You may find a solution as a Firestick or Fire TV user but understand your issue can be related to one or more of the following:
It’s best to start resolving the issue on your end first unless you know for sure the issue is with the IPTV service provider.
- Internet Connection
- Streaming Device/Smart TV
- You, the User
- IPTV Service Provider
Remember, any issue you have with SO Player always go to the IPTV service website where you paid your subscription. Issues not coming from your end can be resolved by the IPTV service support such as:
- No, most, or some channels/VODs working
- Channels/VODs have no audio or picture
- Error message
- Cannot activate SO Player
Additional Information
SO Player not working on Firestick issues such as freezing, poor streaming performance, and consistent buffering generally come from the SO Player user’s end. The issue can be related to a poor/unsteady Internet connection, using an old/outdated streaming device or operating system, using a streaming device that’s not compatible, or an old version of SOPlayer.
There are some things we must cover before we get further into the SOPlayer not working issues.
Make sure you have the latest version of SO Player installed on your compatible streaming device or smart TV. You can get the latest version at the Google Play Store or Apple Play Store when downloading/installing the app. Same thing for the LG smart TV built-in app store.
As for Firestick and Fire TV users, you must use the SOPlayer apk URL the IPTV service gives you to download and install the app/apk. Some IPTVs will use an older version of SO Player whereas they claim it performs better with their IPTV service.
Currently, SO Player is no longer compatible with any Samsung smart TV. The app is not compatible with any smart TV with a built-in app store that doesn’t have SO Player for you to download/install.
You will find the SO Player Not Working on Firestick solutions when reading the Errors and Fixes section further down. Remember that the issues apply to all compatible devices, not just the Firestick.
Top SO Player IPTV Service Providers
Whether you already have a SO Player IPTV service subscription or not, it’s always best to find more SO Player IPTVs. There may come a time when you might want to switch to another SOPlayer IPTV and pay for a different subscription.
I advise you to either bookmark this post or click each link below to visit the IPTV service website and bookmark/save.
This way you know where the top SOPlayer IPTVs are and can save time when not having to search online for another. It ready doesn’t matter which service you choose below. All of them are pretty much the same when delivering streaming TV/VOD content. They can differ in other areas such as the brand name, subscription plan/fee, etc.

NOTE: Also compatible with iOS/Apple devices
Should one of the SO Player IPTVs above no longer accept new customers/subscriptions or go out of service, just click the other link above. One of the downfalls to using a SOPlayer IPTV service is that once they reach the maximum number of subscribers they will close the doors to new customers/subscribers. They will continue to allow current subscribers to renew their subscriptions. However, I have seen over time that some of them close their doors on current subscribers and they can no longer renew.
Compatible Devices
You can only use the following compatible devices:
- Amazon Devices (Firestick & Fire TV) – How to Download/Install
- Computers (Windows & Mac)
- Android Devices (TV, Box & Phone)
- Tablet
- iOS Devices (iPad & iPhone)
- NVIDIA Shield
- Apple TV
- LG Smart TV (not Samsung smart TVs)
- Not compatible with any other devices

SO Player Not Working on Firestick & Other Devices
When I talk about compatible devices, it includes all of the above that are listed. So the SOPlayer not working will apply to other devices also. You may have other compatible streaming devices and smart TVs experiencing an issue so I cover everything here. You don’t need to continue your search elsewhere for other compatible devices.
Errors & Fixes:
SOPlayer Error EC21 or SO Player EC21
You can get the SO Player error ec21 from a current IPTV service subscription should they change the Provider ID. Or, when you switch to another SO Player IPTV service subscription. You may be one of many individuals whose IPTV service closed down permanently. Then switched to another IPTV service to activate the app again but it failed to activate due to an error.
So what exactly is this SOPlayer error EC21 that’s causing many individuals to scour the Internet for help?
When a SO Player user activates and logs into that app with the SO Player IPTV service connected the app, IP address, and the device gets locked in. Because SO Player and IPTV service supporting that app have an IP Lock system, you cannot change your IP address.
This also makes switching from one SO Player IPTV to another not as smooth sailing at times. You can receive the SO Player EC21 error. But this error could show up when the IPTV service shuts down and you try to activate/log into the app again.
Switching to another SOPlayer IPTV service…
Let’s say your current IPTV service Provider ID is 446. You decide later to signup to get the subscription or trial with a new SO Player IPTV service. Only that service’s Provider ID is 836. So you try to activate the app with the new activation/login credentials and got the EC21 error.
The fix is resetting your device’s MAC address which means you must contact the new IPTV service support. They can reset the MAC address for you to activate the app, thus removing the SO Player error ec21.
What Should You Do Now
If you have an active IPTV subscription and they are still in operation, go to that website to get support. Most individuals think they should search the web for SO Player support which is wrong. You always go to the IPTV service website where you paid the subscription for support. It’s a waste of time to ask other websites for help.
If your IPTV service closed down, then you need to find a new SO Player IPTV service to sign up, subscribe to, and get activated. If you still experience the SO Player error ec21, contact the new IPTV service via the chat box for support.
They need to reset your MAC address so that you can activate and use SO Player with the new activation/login credentials. Choose any one of the IPTV services below to get started. All of them have the same everything. Bookmark/save each one to have on hand if you ever want to make another switch.
Amazon Firestick/Fire TV and IPTV Video Freezing
You may be experiencing a lack of memory storage space inside your Firestick or Fire TV device. This can be one reason for the SO Player not working on Firestick issue. You can add more memory space by removing apps you don’t use or need. Read further…
If you are currently undergoing a freezing issue, you should start first with your Amazon device. For a solution, here’s where I will refer you to a video tutorial to watch. All you need to do is follow along and implement the steps. When clearing the data and cache that you are told to do, you will need to log back into your TV app.
Also, understand that you can use only the compatible devices listed above. You must use a new to a fairly new streaming device or one with the latest OS version update. It’s always best to have more than one compatible streaming device.
If a channel’s picture freezes, find another channel that’s working and play it. Then go back to the channel that froze and try to play it. Many times this will work and the channel plays. Sometimes you have to repeat the process more than once. Other times this trick doesn’t work so you need to report the channel name to IPTV service support.
Additional Info…
There may come a time when you need to do a test if experiencing a SOPlayer not working problem.
For instance, if all compatible devices are experiencing the same issue when using the IPTV service, then you can look at the IPTV service as having the problem. You can contact them for support but always start on your end to see if an issue exists. Most of the time the issue is not the IPTV service if they are a good IPTV service.
As for the latter, I test IPTV services before approving them and writing a full review including creating video reviews. This is why I labeled the ones I tested as top IPTVs. You can go HERE to check them out.
Internet Connection
Make sure you have an Internet connection. Check your modem/router to see if the lights are on. If the lights are not showing as before, go ahead and reset your modem/router or turn it off/on. If you still can’t watch online TV using SO Player on your device, try testing other streaming services or try to visit websites on the same device.
You want to see if you do have an Internet connection. If you don’t have an Internet connection, then you need to contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) for support such as AT&T, Comcast, etc.
Streaming Device/Smart TV
You should turn off/on or reset your streaming device if there is an SO Player not working on Firestick issue when watching TV online. If that doesn’t fix things, then try another compatible streaming device with SO Player installed. See if you have any issues watching TV online. If you can watch web TV from that device using the SO Player app, then the issue is related to the other streaming device or smart TV.
You can go to YouTube.com and search for a video on your device to help resolve an Internet connection issue. This also includes poor streaming performance and consistent buffering issues. But if you don’t have an Internet connection at all, you must contact your ISP. See How to Stop Consistent Buffering on Firestick.
You should use a new or fairly new streaming device or smart TV. Anything 5, 10, or more years old, will probably cause issues or not work. Make sure you have the latest updated version. This can very well cause the SOPlayer not to work.
Don’t try to install the SO Player app on a non-compatible device and search online to find a solution. You are wasting your time.
Additional Info…
Always contact your IPTV service support if you are pretty sure the SO Player not working on Firestick issue is on their end.
But before you contact them at least make sure you don’t have a device or Internet problem on your end. You should have the SO Player app installed on other devices as a backup, not just on one Firestick or Fire TV device.
If you have multiple Firesticks connected, then install SO Player. Using other streaming devices with the app installed can help you troubleshoot an issue very quickly.
For instance, if all streaming devices with SO Player installed that are connected to the IPTV service aren’t working to watch Internet TV, then the issue points to the IPTV service. That’s if you don’t have an Internet connection or streaming device issue.
IPTV Service Provider
Your first thought should be if a SOPlayer not working happens to contact the IPTV service. But you will be surprised to know that many times the issue is on the user’s end. Therefore, you should check your end first.
The IPTV service activates the SO Player app when you type in the activation & login credentials. They also deliver all the streaming TV/VOD content and support the app and streaming content. So you must also go to them for support if you know the issue is with them.
However, make sure you check on your end by reading what’s written here first. When you find no streaming channels or VODs working, it’s easy to point to the IPTV service. But check your Internet connection first. Make double sure you have Internet access.
If some channels have no audio/video, contact your IPTV service support. As for any streaming issues such as poor performance and constant buffering, more than likely the issue is on your end. IPTV services have gotten better over the years at reducing/eliminating content buffering issues but they are not perfect.
I do my best to find IPTVs without performance issues. I test them on my streaming devices before writing my review and creating video tutorials.
Additional Info…
I recommend you have at least 30 Mbps but 60 Mbps is better and 100+ is even better. Search your Amazon app store inside the Firestick or Fire TV. You can find and download/install a SpeedTest app on your Firestick to run a speed test.
You need a high-speed Internet connection and it must be a steady connection. Faster the Internet speed the better the streaming quality and performance.
Using an Ethernet Cable Adapter for the Firestick or Fire TV may or may not improve the Internet connection speed. I have tested this device myself and wasn’t too impressed. However, some people rave about it helping improve the Internet connection speed. Perhaps they will make improvements over time.
VPN Service
I was guilty of the following when I experienced an SO Player not working on Firestick issue. I thought it was the IPTV service. My Internet connection was working, and my Firestick was good, so I contacted my IPTV service support.
They said to make sure the VPN service is turned off if I had a VPN. That made me think to check my VPN and sure enough, it was turned on. After turning the VPN off, I could watch streaming TV via SO Player.
It’s important to note that SO Player uses an IP Lock system that prohibits you from changing your IP address. If you try to change the IP address, you get locked out of using the app connected to the IPTV service.
You cannot use a VPN service if SO Player is restricted. Make sure your VPN service is turned off if you have one. If your VPN service was on and you are still locked out of the app (can’t log back in), contact your IPTV service support to have them do a reset.
Bad Credentials
This is a common SOPlayer not working happening that I experienced in the past. When seeing the default error Bad Credentials, it means you’re not currently logged into the SO Player app installed on your streaming device.
You might want to try uninstalling SO Player and then reinstalling the app on the same device. There’s no need to do this if you recently installed SOPlayer. Use the same activation and login credentials to activate. Never try to use the old SO Player activation credentials from the old IPTV service with the new IPTV service.
If you still keep getting the Bad Credentials error after multiple attempts to activate the app/apk, contact your IPTV service provider where you paid your subscription to get support. It could take hours for them to crawl the system and deactivate your old account number.
The worst-case scenario is them telling you that you must do a factory reset on your device such as the Firestick.
Additional Info…
Don’t contact your old IPTV service if you switched to a new IPTV service. Never contact any IPTV service website or 3rd-party websites asking for help. This is a waste of time and nothing anyone can help you with except your IPTV service — where you paid your subscription.
Reached Maximum Count of Device
Here’s another common SO Player not working issue.
In most cases, you are given 4 Device Pin Codes. One pin code per compatible streaming device. When the system detects a 5th device, you’ve already reached the maximum number of 4 devices and cannot add another device.
Therefore, you must remove one of the 4 devices. On the streaming device where the SO Player is installed, go to the Info tab to find the Device ID. Next, you must contact your IPTV service support and send them the Device ID.
Ask them to remove that device so that only 3 devices are currently connected. Then you will be able to add the new device.
Device Type Not Allowed
You can add this SOPlayer not working problem as the most common to occur. Whenever you switch from one SOPlayer IPTV service to another SO Player IPTV, you may undergo this issue.
This usually means that you activated and used the SO Player app with another IPTV service in the past. Simply contact your IPTV service support and give them your old SO Player account number. Or, let them tell you what they want from you.
This could take hours to resolve for them to crawl the system to deactivate your old account number. The worst-case scenario is having to do a factory reset on your streaming device.
No/Sound Voices are off
Firestick/Fire TV Device: Reset your device by unplugging your device and plugging it back in to allow a complete system reboot.
Apple Devices: Turn on your volume from the silent position. If this doesn’t help, then check to see whether or not a system upgrade is available.
Smart TVs: the processing system might not be compatible with SO Player. You may have an old SO Player version installed on your smart TV. If that’s the case, you need to uninstall it and reinstall the latest version of SO Player.
EC11: Account has expired
I have come across SO Player not working issues with many users coming to this website for subscription renewal support, whereas this isn’t the website for that. Sadly, many users don’t know the name of their IPTV service or where to find the IPTV website. This applies to users who use any compatible device.
Your paid subscription for ‘x’ number of months has expired. If you want to renew your subscription, simply go back to the IPTV service website where you paid your subscription in the past. You should already know the name of your IPTV service provider and how to find their website.
You should have received emails from them in the past. Find those emails if you don’t remember the name or how to get support. Sometimes emails are sent to your Spam or Junk mail folder. Look there if you don’t see any emails from your IPTV service provider.
If you find the IPTV service emails in your Spam/Junk mail folder, you must move/drag them into your regular email inbox.
You must pay to renew your subscription at the IPTV service website. Also, note you are given the login details to sign into your IPTV service account which is different from logging into SO Player.
Unauthorized IP address
One reason why the SO Player not working issue occurs is most individuals don’t know the basics or setup. Certain things may not have been explained before.
An ‘Unauthorized IP Address’ error means the system automatically flagged your IPTV account for having devices active on your home network. Because SO Player uses an IP Lock system, you can only connect one IP address.
The IP address can never change. So if you take your streaming device to another household
or place and try to use a different IP address, you get locked out. You cannot share your IPTV account with others outside your primary IP address such as your home.
Your IP address is locked in when you activate and use the SO Player app. This does not apply to using a compatible smartphone connected to different WiFi areas. Also, understand that you can only use one smartphone connected to the IPTV when traveling outside your household or primary IP address.
To resolve the issue, you must contact your IPTV service support and ask for an account reset.
SO Player is Not Activated or Has Incorrect Activation/Login Credentials
You must have an IPTV service subscription to get the activation & login credentials via email. This will consist of the Provider ID (3 numbers), 4 Device Pin Codes (all numbers), Username (all numbers), and Password (all numbers).
If you enter/type in the required credentials correctly from the IPTV service, the SO Player will activate and log you in. Make sure you are not using old SO Player IPTV activation credentials when you switch to a new SO Player IPTV service. I’ve seen this SOPlayer not working with individuals from time to time who told me about the problem.
If you can activate the app, then you must contact the IPTV service where you paid your subscription.
Account Lock
If you used a VPN service, shared your IPTV account (login), or used/connected more than one mobile device, you must delete and reinstall SO Player. Use your activation and login credentials to activate the app again to watch TV online.
Buffering/Poor Streaming Performance
Some individuals have experienced this kind of SO Player not working on Firestick problems. But it can be eliminated or reduced.
Individuals who experience poor streaming performance or buffering issues tend to blame the IPTV service. Although no IPTV service is perfect, usually the buffering or poor performance comes from the user’s end. Here’s where I’ll refer you to our How to Stop Buffering on Firestick post.
Individuals who experience poor streaming performance or buffering issues tend to blame the IPTV service. Although no IPTV service is perfect, usually the buffering or poor performance comes from the user’s end. Let me explain further…
Buffering or poor streaming performance can occur when your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is throttling your Internet connection. Comcast and AT&T, for example, are ISPs where you pay to use the Internet.
Throttling occurs when your ISP intentionally limits your Internet connection’s bandwidth. They do this for several reasons, and it usually manifests as a sloth-like connection. As a result, this can cause consistent buffering and poor streaming performance.
Your ISP service is responsible. Some ISPs don’t like you watching other streaming TV/VOD services they are not familiar with, namely IPTV services.
Solution…
The solution to this SOPlayer not working issue is to use a VPN (virtual private network) service when watching IPTV/streaming TV/VOD. This generally works should an ISP (Internet Service Provider) throttle your speeds. They do this when noticing certain types of traffic, such as torrenting.
However, a VPN service will encrypt your data and connection, so the ISP can’t see what you’re doing online. As a result, a VPN can improve or eliminate your streaming performance or consistent buffering issues.
I suggest taking a look at a top VPN service that I use – LEARN MORE HERE. You can also watch video tutorials when you click the link above. Remember, you can only use a No IP Lock IPTV service with a VPN service. You can find one when visiting our Best IPTV Service Providers Comparison Chart.
IPTVs that use NoraGo, ISG GO, or SOPlayer will use IP Lock technology, you cannot use a VPN service. If you are experiencing a consistent buffering or poor streaming issue, I suggest Reading My Post Here if you are a Firestick or Fire TV device user.

More help to resolve your SO Player not working on Firestick problem. Firestick/Fire TV users including other streaming device users, can go to YouTube for videos on IPTV buffering and poor streaming performance HERE and HERE. There are other ways to fix the issue.
If you are interested in finding a No IP Lock IPTV provider that allows you to use a VPN service and connect any compatible device when traveling CLICK HERE. Just look for an IPTV service in our Top 10 IPTV Comparison Chart that lists No IP Lock. See the far left column titled, “Type of IPTV Service & Apps”
What I explained to you can greatly improve your IPTV performance when watching TV/VOD. Also, note that having a steady high-speed Internet connection is just as important. You should get in the habit of running a speed test on your streaming device.
You may be able to find a speed test app in your streaming device app store to download/install. You should have at least 30 Mbps but 60 Mbps would be better, and 100 or more Mbps would be even better.
If most of your live streaming channels play well without consistent buffering or poor streaming performance, there’s no need to increase your Internet connection speed.
Connecting More Streaming Devices to IPTV Service
When connecting more than one streaming device to the IPTV service, one can experience buffering or poor streaming performance. Either disconnect the other devices or increase your Internet connection speed by contacting your ISP. Of course, this will cost you more money.

One big issue when experiencing a SO Player not working on Firestick problem is as follows: Many individuals download/install the apps first and don’t know what comes next. They don’t know they need a paid IPTV service subscription or that all the streaming content comes from the IPTV service including support.
Other individuals don’t know the IPTV service name or where to find the website to get support after they subscribe. As a result, they search online and bother any website (webmaster) they see that mentions SO Player. We get loads of support messages and have to turn everyone away.
Additional Info…
You must sign up and subscribe to an IPTV service to get the activation/login credentials and support for SO Player. You must remember the name of the IPTV where you paid the subscription and should bookmark/save the website to revisit.
Many individuals claim they never received an email from the IPTV when they subscribed or they lost those emails. If you don’t get any emails from the IPTV after signing up for the trial or subscription, look inside your Junk or Spam mail folder. If the emails are there, move them to your regular email inbox. This completes our SO Player not working post.
