IPTV Subscription Lesson 101

Welcome to IPTV Subscription Lesson 101 which gives you a clear understanding going forward while avoiding making unnecessary mistakes. No doubt you’re looking for a subscription to watch your favorite TV channels, shows, movies, sports, or whatever it is that interests you online.

You may have already installed a TV app on your device. If so, I ask that you slow things down a bit and read what’s below. The question is, are you able to find an IPTV service that supports the app you already installed?

But don’t worry, you will get what you came here to do which is to get a subscription to watch TV online.

App Already Installed or Not

If you know what you’re doing and have an app already install, you can quickly find the right IPTV service subscription for that app. CLICK HERE and scroll down that page. Look for the section, “Find Your TV App Name and Subscription.” If you don’t see an IPTV service for that app, consider finding another IPTV service with different app.

You should at least check below to see if there’s something you don’t know. This may help avoid creating issues for yourself down the road when having a clear understanding.

If you have not installed a TV app, take the time to read everything below. You can find a subscription plan that’s right for you.

Living with or without Cable/Satellite TV

Whether you are living with or without cable/satellite TV, you are going to save a lot of money as well as gain access to a huge amount of streaming TV/VOD entertainment.

But before I send you to our Top 10 IPTV Comparison Chart to find the ideal service to watch your favorites online, let me educate you just a bit. If you are a first-timer, very new to all of this, then you need to learn several things going forward.

Consider the following a class on IPTV Service & TV App 101

IPTV Subscription Lesson 101: IPTV & TV App

I will now cover the IPTV service and TV leading up to getting the subscription. This will be an important part of your learning, so you’ll want to read below…

What Is An IPTV Service?

Without getting technical, let’s cover what it’s not first. IPTV services are not connected or affiliated with any paid TV companies such as cable, satellite, etc. The IPTV services that I’m going to refer you to do not require you to install an antenna, receiver, set-top box, or any hardware outside of your compatible streaming device. IPTV services do not own the content they deliver and don’t host any of the content.

All the streaming content comes from the web via the IPTV service directly to your compatible streaming device such as a Firestick or Smart TV. But you can’t do this without first installing the supported TV app. You get an all-in-one streaming TV and VOD entertainment medium at your fingertips. It’s a very low-cost approach to watching your favorites without the high cost. IPTV Subscription Lesson 101 continues…

Additional Info…

The IPTV service delivers all the streaming TV/VOD content to the TV app installed on your compatible streaming device. They tell what app/apps they support and will provide setup installation instructions. You will learn more further down.

Always remember the name of the IPTV service and know where to find their website online. Many individuals fail to do this and are very unorganized. You must save all the emails the IPTV service sends you. Look in your Junk folder or Spam folder where emails sometimes go if you don’t see any emails from the IPTV service. If you find any there, move them to your email inbox.

When individuals don’t know the IPTV name or where to go to renew their subscription, no one can help them. I’m educating you now so that you don’t follow in the same footsteps and create unnecessary issues for yourself.

What’s A TV App?

Again, without getting technical, you need to download and install a TV app. You can do this first if you already identified the IPTV service that supports the app. Generally, IPTV apps are free to download. You can find many of these apps in the Google Play Store, Apple Play Store, Amazon App Store, sometimes the Roku Channels Store, etc.

However, some TV apps are not found in certain app stores, such as the Amazon App Store. When this happens the IPTV service usually wants you to sideload the apk version of the app. This is what happens if you want to use the Firestick streaming device.

All TV apps have the same functionality more or less but the popular ones generally have better technology. Some of the functionalities include a preview & full screen, a search tool, and tracking technology that tells what you watched previously, Multiscreen, timeshifting, etc.

No TV app delivers any streaming content all by itself. IPTV Subscription Lesson 101 will now cover the requirements needed to bring everything together for you to watch your favorites online.

Basic Requirements Needed

IPTV Subscription Lesson 101 — The 4 components needed to watch IPTV streaming content on your device will include the following:

1. High-Speed Internet Connection. Some IPTV websites tell you the minimum connection speed needed but I generally disagree. Times have changed, and everything has improved. You need fast Internet connection speed when streaming across multiple streaming devices at one time.

Or, when a larger number of people are home watching TV online using the same ISP (Internet Service Provider) you are using. You can use a WiFi connection for other streaming devices and use an Ethernet cable (hardwire) for your primary smart TV in the living for example. This means you have a modem/router at home that delivers the Internet service to your device.

The minimum Internet connection speed should be at least 30 Mbps, 60 Mbps is better, but 100 Mbps is preferred in these days and times.

Additional Info…

The goal is to avoid poor streaming performance and buffering which usually comes from the user’s end and not so much from the IPTV service end. Your Internet connection speed and streaming device(s) must be adequate. But to be clear, no IPTV service is perfect. Some live channels delivered are bound to have some buffering more or less. But that’s some out of 100s if not 1000s of channels.

2. Streaming Devices (stationary, portable & mobile). Some of the popular compatible streaming devices are listed below. But keep in mind that not all TV apps and IPTV services are created equally. The IPTV service will tell what devices are compatible, just like they tell what apps are compatible.

  • Android Devices (TV, Box, Phone)
  • Android Operating Systems (Firestick, Fire TV, NVIDIA Shield, etc)
  • iOS/Apple Devices (iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, etc.)
  • Computers (Windows, Mac, Linux–sometimes)
  • Roku (seldom)
  • Smart TVs (LG, Samsung, Sony–maybe)
  • Mag Box
  • M3u Supported
  • Other Devices

It’s very important to have an updated operating system on your device. Old devices tend to not perform as well. Understand your technology must be up to speed if you expect to enjoy watching streaming content online. IPTV Subscription Lesson 101 continues…

Additional Info…

Make sure your device is running smoothly and updated. Check to make certain you have enough free storage space. Any installed apps you are no longer using should be uninstalled.

3. IPTV App. No free or pay-to-use app delivers any streaming TV/VOD content all by itself. The technology is there to help stream the best of web TV entertainment coming at you on your device. You can either install the app first if you already have identified the IPTV service, or pay the IPTV subscription first. More on this below.

If you are going to use a Firestick or Fire TV, more than likely more steps are involved whereas you must sideload the app. When a TV app can’t be found in the Amazon App Store, then you must install the apk version of the app. On other devices, you can find the app and easily download it from the Google and Apple Play Stores. Either that or can download/install the app from inside your streaming device

Additional Info…

The IPTV app requires the activation/login credentials to activate and use the app to watch TV online. More on this coming up. Different apps have different functionalities. They can also include Add to Favorites, Record (requires external storage device), PIP (Multi-Screen), Parental Control, etc.

4. IPTV Service & Subscription. Finding the ideal IPTV service is where everything should start, not the app. IPTVs support the app and streaming content they deliver but don’t own the streaming content. They email the activation/login credentials right after you sign up for the trial if one is available, or pay the subscription. Some IPTVs have free trials (limitation) or low-cost trials.

The IPTV account is created when signing up on their website. Always remember the IPTV name and where to find their website. You go back to them to renew your subscription when time. Generally, there is no automatic billing–you pay as you go.

Installed a TV App Already?

If you already installed a TV app and can’t find the ideal IPTV service that supports the app, then you need to uninstall that app. Just find an IPTV service that supports a different app. You can also check our Subscription Renewal article which lists a host of app names and where to get the subscription from.
