Stream Direct Review – This service promises to deliver over 4,500 HD channels from across the globe when using software to harness the power of the Internet. The quick, easy set up doesn’t require installing hardware or paying monthly fees. They also promise to deliver high quality streaming channels with unlimited and uncensored access 24/7.

As great as this sounds, there are shortcomings (just a few) that come with the Stream Direct software service like all the other brands out there. The good news is our Stream Direct Review of this product found it to be one of the top sellers of its kind and the pros outweigh the cons, providing you don’t expect more than what it’s capable of doing.

There are basically two things that separate StreamDirect from other Satellite TV for PC services: 1) It’s success in the marketplace makes it reliable; 2) It’s popularity continues to maintain a worldwide interest whereas the number of downloads by consumers continue to grow.

Stream Direct – What Is It?

Getting into the core of this product, you get a StreamDirect TV player (actual software) pre-loaded with thousands of streaming TV/Radio channels, video, music and more from over 100 countries, along with many popular free media players that let you watch your favorite shows on your PC. Each player has its own selection of channels and helps streamline and organize the delivery of free content to you so that you don’t have to search for anything online yourself.

Stream Direct offers a quick, easy setup with access to free content that delivers sports, sitcoms, soaps, talk shows, movies, music, and list goes on. When paying the small one-time fee, you also get a service package that consist of free on-going software upgrades, channel updates and tech support, including 12 free bonuses. There’s even a 30-day free trial DVR (digital video recorder) to record favorite programs to CDs/DVDs included in the package.

The Stream Direct TV player itself includes many feature enhancements to help correct some of the shortcomings and you can personalize the player by adding shows to favorites and record them as well. The service will update its database periodically by adding new channels and deleting broken ones which updates your TV player automatically.

However, some of the claims made by this service and other Stream Direct reviews tend to have you believe that all channels are HD (high definition) when that’s not the case. Truthfully, when using their player you can expect good to very good quality when watching shows on your computer.

But there are many popular web-based media websites that are included in the package and free. These sources tend to more on-demand channels, videos and movies with HD-like or DVD-like quality. Even when enlarging the screen to Full Screen, you’ll enjoy watching a movie or sitcom across your entire computer screen.

Since some channels come and go, a number of them listed on Stream Direct website may be questionable. So expect some channels not to be available when purchasing the product. This package is designed males and females but more females have visited the website. This product isn’t designed just for individuals living in the US, it caters to all countries. When downloading all the TV player applications and accessing all the web-based media websites the number of countries becomes 250+, with a lot more than just the 4,500+ channels as advertised.

Another benefit to using the Stream Direct TV player is that you receive many perks, bonuses and resources, including a wealth of online entertainment that no other service like this one provides. If the goal is to find a source that delivers the best of Internet TV to you (not some it but most of it) whereas you don’t want to seek and find everything yourself this software package delivers just that.

Other Stream Direct Downsides

One of the downsides to StreamDirect including its competitors is there are times when the picture quality for some channels is a little blurred and you’ll experience some ‘choppy’ video at times. But they are still viewable when watching them on your PC.

This common issue can also occur when the user’s Internet connection speed is a bit slow which explains why a broadband connection is preferred. You can use a wireless connection but with some limitation. Other factors will play into getting good quality such as having a computer with very good video and multimedia software, and the source where channels/videos originate from will also play a part in their quality.

The feature enhancements included in the Stream Direct player include Play, Live TV, Satellite Radio, Favorites, Full Screen, Music On-Demand, Video on Demand, and Record.

There are many countries and channels in different languages that you will have no interest in watching. But with almost unlimited media available to you, it’s not a major concern. Some countries will have more channels than others and the only way to know what and how many are included you’ll have to purchase the product yourself. There is a 3-day trial available that you might want to take advantage of and see exactly what’s available for your country.

Stream Direct helps deliver many movies, TV shows/episodes, sports, and other free content to watch on your desktop or laptop computer with a wireless or preferred broadband (DSL or Cable) connection. Another footnote: Just because the service says it’s compatible to Windows, XP, Vista and 7 operating systems, it doesn’t necessarily mean the software will work with every computer. There can be a software-to-computer incompatibility issue but very rarely does this happen.

That’s why I suggest going after the 3-day trial so that you can test the product on your computer to see if everything works. Also, it’s a good idea to contact the service with questions and check their response time to emails. I never had a problem getting a response when sending an email to them. If you are very concerned about running into a scam, don’t be. My StreamDirect review didn’t detect a scam.

Because Steam Direct TV has it’s own email support but they outsource their sale/refund transactions to CommerseGate, who makes it easy to request a full refund within the 60-day money back guarantee period. Contacting both services via email, chat, and toll-free phone # is very easy.

None of these Satellite TV for PC software services offer free paid premium channels such as Starz, Prism, HBO, and Cinnemax. But they are legal and tend to work within a Government loophole. These services don’t own any of the content they deliver to computers, which explains why some channels come and go when coming from providers that have full control.

The thing that makes Steam Direct a highly sought after product is that it offers a very quick, easy way to create a computer Internet TV system using a desktop or laptop. So unless you are a do-it-yourselfer and rather surf the web to find your own channels, you can speed up the process when using a Web TV application like this one.

The picture quality may not be as good as your HDTV sitting at home, but it helps add another dimension to your existing television, and offers the next best thing to paid Satellite and Cable channels without the monthly fees.

When weighing the pros and cons along with trying to decide whether or not this product is worth the money, you have to consider what’s the most important element that addresses your need. Some people like having a mobile TV laptop so they can watch what they want from any location in or out of the home, while others simply like watching television on their computers as easy as possible.

Some other things to note: There are free PC Satellite TV software out there that don’t require a small one-time fee but they tend to have less value with little to no support; No one Web TV website carries all channels or have all your favorite shows, sports, etc, one place. There are more on-demand channels than live ones which is worth mentioning if you are expecting more live shows, which by the way is climbing on a regular basis. But, Steam Direct has shorten the workload and the learning curve to setting up a computer Internet TV system with instant delivery of free TV channels and radio stations.

The one-time fee ($49.95) is around the market standard and could be the deal breaker. If you only want to watch certain channels or a few favorite shows, then obviously you need to pursue other options. On the other hand, if you enjoy variety TV and watching programs from other countries such as sports and TV shows, then this could be something you might want to try.

Even if the application falls short of your expectation, you always have the option to request a full refund with no questions asked.
