Traditional TV hasn’t been the same since Internet-ready TVs, computers and mobile devices found their way to tons of streaming TV channels and other media online. Not only do viewers have the ability to watch TV shows, movies, sports, videos and other programs without a television around, they don’t have to be confined to one location to watch a favorite program.
The sudden advancements in technology have played a vital role in our demand for more TV variety, freedom, savings programming, mobility and flexibility. As a result, there are many different Internet TV software services, apps and hardware products on the market today, including Internet-ready TVs.
The changing of lifestyles, tighter budgets, need to watch or listen to different programs on the go also seems to be contributing factors to why more people are heading to the web. Other factors may include the following:
- Rising cost of Satellite and Cable television subscription services
- Living without paid television that leads to surfing the web for the next best thing
- More Programming/selections desired
- Desire to watch TV from any location, in or out of the home
The Problem…
As popular as the web is these days, there’s one issue in particular that exist with watching television online. It takes time and effort to comb the web to find channels to watch. This task also includes going from website to website to watch something because no one site carries all channels or programs.
The Solution…
What I found in my review is that it can be a solution to saving time and effort so that you watch more and surf less online, and its more cost effective when comparing it to Satellite and Cable. The Internet offers you the next best thing to paid television but getting it on your computer is totally left up to you. You can…
– Take the totally free approach and work more, or
– Take the paid approach and work less
When using a paid service like this one that charges a small one-time fee, it keeps you in one location when watching channels from the web — along with a few perks to enhance online viewing more.
So if you are looking for the easiest, fastest, and cheapest gateway to watch TV online when using a computer, then that’s exactly what this service will do to help you. Getting TV channels through your computer has been around for about a decade now and many have chosen to switch to this type of entertainment delivery system.
While it’s convenient sitting at your computer to watch favorite shows and using headphones so that you don’t disturb anyone, there are lots of other benefits to this type of setup.
There are many reviews out there but in this review you’ll come to a complete understanding that one of the first considerations to going with a product/service like this one is the cost.
If you have cable or Satellite, then you are most likely paying a monthly fee for the privilege — along with an ongoing charge that can be hefty. With online television there is no monthly fee and once the initial download fee to acquire the software program is made, there are no hidden surprises or other charges.
However, there is an optional upgrade for a few dollars that’s separate from the main package if more entertainment is needed, such as movies.
Although this software brings a bit of controversy with it, the good news is it’s still one of the most sought after and experienced Internet TV services of its kind that ask for a small one time fee to use it.
If you have questions about its validity, then you should know that SD has stood the test of time without being shut down by DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) or FTC (Federal Trade Commission) or some other authority.
Also, Clickbank (highly reputable marketplace where this software is sold) plays a vital role in keeping things legit. I know this to be true because I received a notice from them some months ago when announcing their new “Product Promotion Guidelines” that was made effective August 1, 2011. I thought this should be mentioned so that you’ll know that Clickbank doesn’t support scams.
Seemingly, they are running a tighter ship nowadays that forces vendors and affiliates like writing a sales copy or review to comply with FTC regulations in the US that now prohibits any false advertising, among other things.
Not only that but if a vendor doesn’t comply with Clickbank policies, their product/service will be removed from the marketplace and all sales will cease. There’s also a limit to the amount of refunds a vendor can have. If they go over that limit during a certain time period, they must pay additional fees and receive assistance from Clickbank on how to lower the refund rate — usually this has something to do with a vendor’s quality of tech/customer support.
This is certainly good news for consumers as this payment processor works closely with the FTC to prohibit false advertising. There’s more to this company and I’ll discuss that information soon.
PC Satellite TV is proprietary software — a product of ETV Corp and comes with a service package that adds more value. In a nutshell, it offers a lifetime membership that includes automatic updates to both the application and channels received, including tech support.
And speaking of channels, this software service package offers in excess of 3,500 channels from all over the world. More than 700 of these channels emanate from the U.S., broadcasts from nearly 100 countries are available.
With this many options for programming, people from all walks of life are certain to find something to enjoy.
Question is can this direct Satellite software package replace (or equivalent to) Cable or Satellite as some claims have been made to this effect.
Well to set the record straight, I prefer to say that this product/service provides the next best thing to Satellite/Cable because it’s not the equivalent to HD picture and audio quality at home nor does it have the same program selections as paid TV, like Prism, HBO and Starz — yet it does deliver some of the free-to-air programs you get from paid television networks that charge a monthly subscription fee.
But all things being equal, this software helps deliver over 3,500 channels and other free content to ones computer quickly. That’s a lot more programs than traditional television.
However, there are a few downsides that we’ll discuss later but keep in mind that Web TV and related products are beginning to change for the better as technology and television networks continue to improve.
When looking at this from a savings standpoint, then yes the service does offset the monthly cost of paid television by not charging you a monthly fee. Then again, you have the option to the Movies Version.
Free Trial
There’s a free trial software version that takes up 29.6 MB of hard drive Space and can be downloaded to a PC or Mac computer. But I prefer to say that it’s a free demo because it doesn’t allow you to play channels as a free member. Still, it’s worth downloading to check out the feature enhancements, countries and channels listings, look and feel, and TV player console which is actually the application itself.
What Channels and Countries are included – The free demo is a great way to see what all is included. You get to see whether or not your country is included and how many channels there are. The only downside here is you can’t tell whether or not those channels work and how good is the quality as a free member.
8 TV Player Features
- Play Button – Plays a particular channel after searching for it by country within the TV player. It’s as simple as that and doesn’t require a user manual for any of the remaining features…
- Switch TV Button – Shows all the available TV channels for a country that can be played when selected
- Switch Radio Button – Shows all the available radio stations for a country that can be played when selected
- Favorites Button – Adds a channel/station to favorites so that it can be viewed later
- Full Screen Button – Enlarges the TV player screen for better viewing when a program is plays
- Watch Movies Button – Quick access to movies that can be played/viewed
- Update Button – Updates channels automatically that comes from the database updates to the application periodically. Updating the software (TV player) should be performed periodically. The service will update their database from time to time which will replace broken links when you click the “Update” button
- Search Button – Users have the option to surf the web to find their own TV channels and radio stations to add to the player. Great for personalizing ones player

To Visit sat direct Now, Go to
System Requirements
- 1 Ghz CPU (Intel/AMD Processor)
- Minimum 128 MB of RAM
- Minimum 13 MB of free hard drive space
- All versions – Microsoft Windows 98, 98SE, Millennium, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7 or Mac OS X version with .exe download capability
Note: Mac users may also want to check out the free Boot Camp application that allows you to run Windows software applications on a Mac — if for some reason the SD Mac version doesn’t work for a particular Mac OS. But keep in mind when using Boot Camp, Windows 7 must be installed in order for this to work (see “Software Test” in the right column of this site).
Service Package/Member’s Area – The service package that comes with SD is very beneficial. Once a paid member, you get a lifetime membership with free on-going software upgrades, channel updates, and tech support. This keeps everything like new and up to date as web media is forever changing and new technology is introduced.
The members area is where everything begins. This is where you download Sat Direct (not a standalone) with the option to download Windows Media Player, Quicktime Player and Adobe Flash Player (standalone) if your computer requires them. All of them have special codecs needed to play different types of audio/video files inside the TV player.
How it Works – My review of the TV player (software) found it to be quite simple in scope. It doesn’t take a techie to set it up on a computer. You simply download and install the application to any PC or Mac desktop/laptop. It’s suggested that you go to the ‘Help’ section when visiting their website to get installation and uninstall instructions if needed.
There are no additional license fees required to install the application on different computers but the number of times you can install it on different computers is a question that’s best answered by customer/tech support — just send them an email.
Once the application is installed on your hard drive, you simply open the TV player by clicking the Sat Direct icon that appears on your computer desktop. Once it’s opens, you will see it loading and automatically updating itself until it finishes.
The player will open and provide access to everything inside. As stated before, no user manual is required. Everything is pretty much self-explanatory and takes little time to get started. You simply point and click to countries and channels including other types of media in the manner they are categorized.

Who is it for – Web TV newbies who enjoy watching variety TV (news, sports, TV shows, movies, etc.) on their desktop/laptop and don’t put high emphasis on HD quality and paid TV channels stand to benefit more.
This package is very suitable to English speaking individuals — there are many English channels coming from US, UK, Canada, and Australia. But, there are also thousands of channels included from over 100 countries in various languages — each country will have more or less programs to watch. Just download the free demo to see what channels are included for your country.
Also, SD is great for bilingual or multilingual individuals as there are many countries that have channels in various languages. If you like variety television, in other words, all kinds of national and international shows, you also stand to benefit more. There’s no sense in purchasing this product if you are only interested in watching a few shows.
Keep in mind, however, that watching TV online isn’t the same as watching programs on a regular TV-set at home. Local channel means — in the US — as oppose to foreign channels (from other countries). There will be local programs from many cities/states in the US but might not include your area.
Nevertheless, if local channels from your area are streamed over the web, you can search for them and add them yourself to the TV player. This helps you keep everything in one location rather than travel from site to site to watch something. And also lets you personalize all the channels you really want to watch.
Satellite TV Sofware Scam – Do to the over hyped content out there and the nature of paid Internet TV software packages from vendors and many product reviewers, consumers tend to believe these products are too good to be true, scamware and when they don’t work for some consumers or fall short of their expectations — they are labeled as scams.
Some advice you can use is download a totally free TV player that allows you to play channels to get a general idea of the picture and video quality, channel quantity, among other things (see “Software Test” in the right column of this site).
Another thing is there are some complaints that express this service doesn’t honor their money back guarantee. The problem here is sometimes new members email refund requests directly to the service when they are suppose to send the request to Clickbank.
Obviously, anyone who says you don’t get your money back isn’t reading the Clickbank email that comes to ones email inbox immediately after making a payment. It has the new member’s order number with instructions on where to go to get help with an order. I made requests for a full refund on other purchases in the pass — not once did Clickbank fail to obligate their 60-day money back guarantee.
Is Satellite TV to PC any good, real, legit, legal? – This question is generally asked separately (multiple questions) by many people who have concerns about this product/service. For starters, if you stick with the top leading brands like this one, you avoid falling victim to unscrupulous people.
These types of products are not designed to decode/descramble paid TV channels. They tend to scrap free media from the Internet that have open gateways and bring everything together to one location for your convenience.
Some call it a Government loophole that allows this (at least for the time being) and that’s why all of these services, whether new or old, have remained in business today.
They are not violating copyrights or doing unscrupulous things to get shut down. It’s imperative that you read their “Terms of services” when visiting their website.
But the truth of the matter is these types of products tend to fall a tad short in picture quality compared to what’s at home. There are times when videos will have a higher quality than streaming live channels.
Some complaints have been made towards all free and paid Internet TV software products whereas some or all channels don’t work, bad quality and channel selections, poor picture quality, no picture but sound only, poor performance, can’t download/install the application and other issues.
Customer/Tech Support – This service offers support via email if or when a customer has an issue. Unfortunately, the waiting period to get a response from them can take 2-3 business days. If an issue should occur, make sure to describe all the details, step-by-step, when and how the issued occurred, and what you tried to do to remedy the issue. Also provide some details about the type of computer you are using, operating system, type of Internet connection, etc.
I’m not going to say support is available 24/7 but I have contacted them in the pass and received a response back. I highly recommend that you test the waters, sort of speak, by sending them an email yourself.
Don’t expect a response on weekends and over the holidays. And remember, this service is US-based.
There are steps that you can take to avoid running into a scam. I’m not going as far to say that this service is a scam because it does work fairly well which seems to be good enough for many people who kept their purchase.
Before writing this review, I tracked the number of sales vs. refunds from visitors referred by InternetTvDotCom who later made a purchase and found the success rate to be 80% or more. That’s the percentage of happy users who didn’t request a refund. More on this further down.
When comparing this services to others like it the success rate is better and has a low failure rate. As a result, this product continues to out sell all the other paid brands out there. The extreme popularity speaks volumes considering the controversy that comes with it.
More Pros and Cons
Picture and Audio Quality – Although the quality of the picture and audio are good in many cases, there are times when you’ll experience an occasional blurred picture or ‘choppy’ video. For the most part, expect to receive good to very good quality.
Also, in some cases, the audio may be a tad low so you might want to use head phones or external speakers to make the audio louder.
What it can and can’t do – Don’t expect premium paid channels such as Starz, HBO, and Prism to watch on your computer. That’s not what this product/service is designed to do. The software doesn’t decode/descramble paid TV signals and if that were to be the case, this service would be facing a copyrights infringement lawsuit and/or DMCA (take down) notice.
So it’s in your best interest to read the “Terms of Service” found at their website. That way there’s no confusion whether or not this service is in it’s legal right to deliver free channels (not owned by them) to your computer.
Quality of Channels – Some streaming channels will have some blurriness but are viewable and sometimes there will be some “choppy video.” Just make sure you use a broadband connection (DSL or Cable) at 1MB if not more. Higher the connection speed better the overall performance and picture quality.
Also, many of the free-to-air channels available are found on Satellite and Cable. There are more on-demand channels than live ones. As far as HD quality goes, many of the streaming (live) programs will have good quality but sometimes lose some picture crispness when viewing them in full screen.
Keep in mind that if you don’t have excellent multimedia and video software with a HD computer screen, then expect good to very good quality overall. Also, the source where the free media comes from can play a role in what type of quality you will receive.
Once again, free media coming to your computer is owned by providers themselves, not Sat Direct. So expect some channels to come and go — this is to be expected when watching TV online. Certain programs will have temporary down times due to different time zones than your area and will be available at a later time.
This issue has nothing to do with the software service itself. Just keep in mind this service doesn’t own or make claims to owning any of the free media it delivers to your computer.
The claim that there are over 3,500 worldwide channels is hard to believe since some broken channel links will occur and temporary down times that come with it. However, some of the feature enhancements included in the TV player will correct some of the shortcomings such as “Update” button that updates channels, and you can add your own shows to favorites when finding them online yourself.
You will get access to local, national and international channels but more on-demand than live programs, and you watch sports, movies, TV shows/sitcoms/episodes and news with access to other free media.
Is it Worth the Money? – That depends on the person. I’ve found that when a person puts more emphasis on receiving HD quality channels or just interested in watching a couple of shows or want paid premium Satellite/Cable TV channels that are illegal, then this product/service isn’t for them.
Tip: For what it’s worth, you are better off going after the DISCOUNT that brings the regular price $49.95 USD down to $29.95 USD. If you like the idea of having quick, easy access to worldwide channels/radio stations and not too high on receiving HD quality all the time, than perhaps the next step beyond this review is to try it out for yourself.
From my experience and many others like me, the pros outweigh the cons.
The product does work and many people all over the world who still uses it can attest to that. The video demos showing the TV player in action will certainly tell you. If you decide to buy and find out later the product isn’t for you, you can always exercise your right to a full refund (no questions asked). But whatever you do, make the request through Clickbank, not software service.
Clickbank is the payment processor and they are the ones you request a full refund from. The email they send you after making a payment will have your order number with instructions to visit their customer service page. You can either email the refund request or give them a phone call.
Also, I found that this service doesn’t offer a phone number to call them directly. So the only way you can contact tech support is by email.
So if you are okay with everything in this review including the pros and cons that have been revealed, then you just might find this service/product worth a try.
If you’re a college student, it’s a great way to watch television in your dorm room where space is very limited. If your job allows you to watch television while working it’s also perfect there.
You don’t require a satellite dish, special hardware or any other type of equipment to enjoy this online TV experience. You simply need a computer, an Internet connection and the software which is available through a one-time purchase — no monthly fees.
If you can imagine yourself being able to watch what you want, when and where you want 24/7, then will enjoy the convenient that this service brings. If sports are something you like to view it’s nice to know you can find sports programming from all across the globe. Thousands of channels are broadcast from Europe, Asia, South and Central America and, of course, North America.
For those who live in a foreign country outside of the U.S. and spend most of their time speaking a language that is not their native tongue, online TV can be a Godsend.
Having the ability to view programs from your home land in your native language alone is worth the price of admission when considering it’s chicken feed compared to what satellite or cable services charge.
Conclusion
Hopefully this review has shed some light on the availability, quality and vast options in programming delivered through their TV on PC system. Opting for the SD download essentially keeps the user in one location while viewing favorite programs.
In most cases, the savings in the very first month will more than pay for a lifetime of Web TV enjoyment. Not only that but ETV Corp gives you many options to choose from that works within your budget and offers the type of entertainment you want most. For instance…
Best Buy – You could choose ETV Corp’s Full Movies Platinum Membership for 1 year with unlimited movies at $39.95 USD (PC users only) with the option to purchase SD (3,500+ channels/stations) at $9.95 which is a one-time offer. For both, the price becomes $49.90 USD which is a bargain considering what it will cost you if buying each product separately ($39.95 + $49.95 USD).
Or, you may elect to go after the sports package (see link at bottom). No other service offers this array of entertainment which continues to make DirectSatellite and Full Movies two of the best selling products in the Clickbank marketplace. You can actually see the savings (one time fee) because of no monthly fees to pay. Just compare the cost to what you’ll pay to a Cable/Satellite service, movies theaters and renting movies.
There’s no hardware to install or wires to connect which is great for newbies. If you elect to give any one of these packages a try — REMEMBER — you can always request a full refund through Clickbank if a product falls short of your expectations.
For what it’s worth, the pros outweigh the cons and you’ll enjoy watching the entertainment you love on your computer with this software and/or Full Movies.
