Satellite PC Pro Review Breakdown
What is Satellite PC Pro? The Sat PC Pro technology was developed by Dynamic Software West and appeared on the market around the end of 2006 or early 2007. Their new sleek-looking website is located at satellitepcpro.com. Since the time of its inception, the service has made several software upgrades which now brings us the 5.0 version for 2012.
Although this product isn’t the most popular out there today, it still receives many global searches and has stood the test of time without receiving a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) take down notice, so in that sense it must be doing something right.
The Satellite PC Pro v5 Platinum software is actually a TV player, pre-loaded with tons of OTA/FTA (over-the-air or free-to-air) live/on-demand channels that comes with a service package. The package adds more value as it keeps you up to date when technology and the web changes. No longer are you required to surf the web to find channels or go from website to website to watch something because a site doesn’t carry all channels shows.
In a nutshell, the Satellite PC Pro with NETVO technology delivers free content to your computer without you having to do any work. But keep in mind, they don’t own any of the content that’s being delivered. The TV player can be personalize to the user’s liking when adding channels from the Internet to watch. In fact, with the new and improved technology built into the 5.0 version, there are some extra bells and whistles which I’ll reveal soon.
This product also saves its members time and effort. It allows you to stay in one location to watch what you want, when and where you want, from any location when using the Internet. There are no monthly fees to pay, additional equipment to install or wiring to connect. Any Windows desktop or laptop PC with a wireless or preferred broadband (DSL or Cable) connection will work.
Is Satellite PC Pro Any Good, Legit, Legal? The Internet today is a floodgate; it has all kinds of free streaming media coming from open gateways. Though, some of the content can be hard to figure out where it’s coming from and can leave you with a moral decision to make, you always have the option to stick with licensed sites like hulu.com or joost.com.
Government laws haven’t quite figure out what to do with the Internet, whether to regulate or let it go free, but copyright infringement is a horse of another color. Sat PC Pro doesn’t link to any P2P (Peer-to-Peer) sharing sites where they are known to have copyrighted music videos, movies and other videos uploaded by some of their members who simply want to ignore the law.
This service also doesn’t decode or descramble any signals from paid TV networks, so from that standpoint it’s legal. However, it’s the linking to other sites that may be linking to others that may have questionable content.
But with so much of this linking going on today, it’s becoming rather difficult to determine what’s legal and what isn’t. Even big companies like Google Youtube, Facebook and others have users that link to other sources that link to others, and so on.
For the most part, this service is legit when it says it delivers 1000s of channels but not all the media plays at the time you’re ready to watch something. The HD quality for some of the streaming content is somewhat questionable but many of the shows do have good quality and are viewable. It’s just that when they advertise the software is Mac compatible it’s somewhat misleading (see cons below).
Who is SatellitePcPro For? If you’re one of the many who enjoys watching variety TV in your language from different countries, then that’s what you get here. Also, anyone who is bilingual, multilingual, or studying a new language stands to benefit more as well. More males age 35 and over continue to visit this website but females are not far behind, which explains the variety in channels and many countries that are being delivered.
It doesn’t matter if a person is from Russia, Ukraine, US, Hong Kong, Belarus, Egypt or from another country, this service tries to help everyone. But the one flaw here is some countries will have less channels than others and that’s something you want to know before making a purchase.
I highly suggest contacting the Satellite PC Pro software service via email with questions, and ask about the number of channels for a particular country you are interested in knowing more about – I suggest that you do this if just to check their email response time to see how well they respond to potential customers.

Satellite PC Pro vs. Other Brands. This service/product is in the middle of the pack compared to other brands like it. What makes it stand out more from the competition is the feature enhancements, but, putting that aside, it’s not considered the best out there. If searching for the best of the Web TV entertainment, it falls a tad short of the mark. But, if that doesn’t interest you that much and just want a reliable service with live and on-demand channels to watch from your homeland, then it can be appealing in that regards.

How Satellite PC Pro Works. Once the application is downloaded and installed to a computer, it will open automatically if you set the parameter for it to do that during the download process. Otherwise, there will be a Sat PC Pro icon that appears on your computer’s desktop to double click and open. Simply enter the username and password provided in the email sent to your inbox.
Everything is point and click once inside the TV player. Channels are organized by country and category (genre). Simply click a country link for all channel categories to appear in the left panel of the player, click a category link for all channels to appear, and click a channel to play it. That’s all there is to it. There many feature enhancements available that will be explained later.
The software (TV player) works and I can attest to that when going through my physical review of Satellite PC Pro v5. There are some video reviews out there that will attest to that as well. As a lifetime member of the PC Pro software, I receive free upgrades and the v5 is the most recent upgrade where I have it installed on my new Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows 7.
I purchased this product around the time when it first came out some years ago and downloaded it to an old computer. Although I didn’t experience any problems, other users had experienced problems. The service decided to re-build the PC Pro application from ground up (hence, version 5) to work with the .Net Framework so that Vista, XP and older operating systems don’t experience any incompatibility issue.

Is Satellite PC Pro a Scam? It’s no secret that some consumers, even former members, have complain this product is a scam. In fact, some have labeled all these products as scams which isn’t true. Also, things can get misconstrued that these services are better than Satellite/Cable and deliver paid television shows. It’s better to say that they offer the next best thing to paid television.
However, what’s happening now is Internet television (over-the-air channels) is growing more by the day and there’s almost unlimited free content available — more than traditional TV.
Some people have expressed that members don’t get their money back when requesting a refund. This is a farce as many of the complaints are from people who didn’t go to the payment processor to request a refund (See Money Back Guarantee/Refund below).
Channel List & Picture Quality. The only way to know for sure what channels are included is to buy the software or send an email to the service and ask what’s available. Outside of that there’s no list out there other than what is listed on their website.
What can be misleading are overly hyped Satellite PC Pro reviews and a person’s misinterpretation of what the website is advertising when it comes to receiving HD quality picture. Some of the streaming media are not as crystal clear; they usually have good to very good quality. But, you will notice that some of the other media will have HD or DVD-like quality. The image below is a movie playing inside the TV player where the quality appears HD or DVD-like.

Membership/Support/Service Package. Customer email support is provided (no phone number) in case you run into a snag with the software. Although I have emailed this service many times over and have received responses, I highly suggest contacting them before making a purchase. This will help you figure out whether or not someone is available that responds to email, since some people have made complaints in this area.

Also included in the service package is a lifetime membership that consist of software upgrades and channel updates. This helps keep everything like-new and up-to-date with the web and as technology and content changes.
Once you become a paid member, you get access to the members’ area with user-name and password. This is where you download the TV player software and get access to video tutorials that provide instructions on operating the player, features, and how to make a TV on PC connection. There’s also a link to get access to free streaming music.
The member’s area is pretty limited compared to other services/products I reviewed. It only has a few links, unlike other packages that give you a greater Internet TV experience. What I mean is this service doesn’t link you to many of the popular web-based media websites to watch live and on-demand shows and it doesn’t provide links to download TV players that allow you to watch more popular content on your PC or television when a computer is connected.

Satellite PC Pro 5.0 TV Player, Mac Compatible & Features
TV Player. The software is downloaded from the members’ area. The short, simple instructions takes you through the process until the setup is completed which only takes a couple of minutes.
The player is pre-loaded with tons of channels, something that I was unwilling to count and list in this Satellite PC Pro Review because they are just too many.
Keep in mind that some channels will come and go but the service will update its database which in turns automatically updates your TV player. While the interfacing is smooth and quick, picture quality/video good to very good and some DVD-like quality, I experienced some of the usual downsides found in other TV on PC brands.

Mac Compatible. While the advertisement says the Satellite PC Pro 2012 is Mac compatible, it doesn’t say that it’s OS X compatible which is important to know because it’s not. I was informed by the service that a 3rd party application such as Boot Camp is needed and must be installed in order for the PC Pro to work with the Mac OS X.
I researched the free application further (see “Software Test” in right column) and discovered there’s more involved (see cons below).

Features
What really stands out most about this TV player software are the features. Two very interesting features were added that the Satellite PC Pro 4.0 version didn’t have. So if you are looking for outstanding features inside the player, you will get exactly that here.

See list of features below…
Update button. Two ways channels are updated: 1. Every time the service updates it database the TV player will automatically update the channels when launching it; 2. Click the update button inside the player to update channels.
Support button. If an issue occurs, you can contact the service via email when clicking the support button. The other option is go to their website to contact them via email.
Always on Top button. This will keep the TV player on top if you have any web browsers of folders open on your computer screen.
Move button. This feature will move the TV player to the icon tray at bottom of the computer screen.
Shorten/Enlarge Button. Not to be confused with full screen, this button lets you shorten and enlarge the TV player.
Close button. Closes the TV player when finish with it.
Channels by Country Link. Clicking the link once will organize countries in alphabetical order. Click the link again brings everything back to its original state, meaning list of channel categories.
My favorites Channels link. Can add any channel to favorites and watch later.
Channels by Category. In the left column is the list of channels that are available for viewing online — Business; Cartoon; Children; Classic Movies; etc. They are organized by country.
Flip through channels left/right buttons. Can easily flip through channels, up and down.
Toggle full screen button. Can enlarge the TV player screen across ones computer screen but only when a channel is playing. However, there’s one issue. Nothing tells you how to downside the screen once it’s in full screen. I tried the ESC key but that didn’t work. By trial and error, I found that pressing CTRL + ESC keys simultaneously brought the player to it’s original state. You might have to figure out what works on your PC.

My channels button. Can add a channel to the TV player when finding one online. This is one way you can personalize the player. Also allows you to add a country, category, channel and URL, as well as test the channel to see if it is working. Click the “Add Channel” button when finished and adjust the volume.
Rewind/Pause/Play/Stop/Record buttons. Typical functions that allow you to play, manipulate and record channels. Can only record a channel when it’s playing. When finish recording, just click the record button again. Rewind and Pause only works with recorded channels.
Volume/Mute. Can decrease, increase or block out the audio.
Right click channel. Right click any channel in the left side panel and a menu window will pop open with a list of functions – play, PIP 1-3, stop, record with NETVO, mute, members area, report broken channels, and add to favorites.
Report broken channel. Lets you report a channel that no longer works. This informs the service to remove the channel from its database.
2 New Features in 5.0 Version:
1. Picture in Picture Technology. With the new PIP feature, you can watch 4 different channels on your computer simultaneously. Move any one of the multiple monitors across your computer screen and easily change channels in each pip screen while the other screens are broadcasting.
2. Multiple Stream Playback Technology. The MSP technology uses a set of codecs integrated in the software that enables you to stream media from various channel provider formats. This literally opens the door to thousands upon thousands of new channels that were not available in the Satellite PC Pro 4.0 version. Furthermore, the user can add channels to Satellite PC Pro from various sources such as Youtube and Hulu.
How-To Videos. 3 Video tutorials (Getting Started, More Control & Using NETVO) are include in the package that shows all of the Satellite PC Pro 5.0 player features and how they work. Although no other accessories are needed to watch channels online when using a desktop or laptop computer with a broadband connection, you might want to make a TV on PC connection which there’s a video that shows how and what video/audio cable connector/convertor is needed to make it work.
Before you download Satellite PC Pro, it is suggested that you watch the video tutorials to get more familiar with the TV player and feature enhancements before launching it.
Bonus. GroovesShark is free and part of the package where you can go to listen to stream music online and start building your Library, creating Playlists, and sharing your favorite tunes with your friends.
Simply create a new account and search for any genre to listen to music. You can upgrade to either “Grooveshark Anywhere” for $8/mo. (music library on your smartphone/other integrated devices) or “Grooveshark Plus” for $6/mo. (uninterrupted, ad-free listening experience)

Satellite PC Pro Review – Pros, Cons & Price
Pros & Cons
Pros: If you like fancy gadgets, there are some very unique and fascinating features included in the TV player, unlike its competitors. What’s particularly interesting is how you can personalize the Satellite PC Pro TV player by adding your own channel – if you know where to find them online. Also, adding to favorites is another way to personalize the player to your liking.
But what separates this TV player from others like it are the feature enhancements, particularly the PIP (Picture in Picture) and Multiple Stream Playback. If you can see the value in that after reading about them above, then it’s clearly the best out there in that regards.
The Satellite PC Pro 2012 service periodically updates its database from time to time and you will know that when launching the TV player as it displays the updating process. This is done automatically, not manually, like some of the other services out there.
Some of the benefits to using SatellitePcPro are:
* Creates Web TV system on the fly
* Creates mobile Web TV system using a laptop
* Can add thousands of channels to your arsenal
* Watch from any location at home, work, college, etc.
* Great for all ages, men, women & kids >
* When extra television is needed
* No hardware or antenna to install, wires to connect, nor monthly fees
* No more sharing television or caught without one
* Continues to update (add more) channels/countries and improve more
Cons: The website says over 3,000 channels are included but according to the video tutorial the owner said expect to get over or under 3,000 due to some channels coming and going. This can stem from playing channels from different time zones that don’t play when expecting them to. However, they might play later on provided the link isn’t broken or a provider no longer makes them available.
The website also says the software is compatible to Mac but when I contacted the service they told me that a 3rd party application like Boot Camp is needed in order for the Sat PC Pro 5.0 to work. In other words, the SatPcPro itself isn’t OS X compatible.
Boot Camp allows Windows-based applications to work on a Mac and is free to download, but you need Windows 7 installed on your computer and this of course is an additional cost to you.
There are other 3rd party products out there that can do the same thing as well but they also come with additional costs.
While the Satellite PC Pro 5.0 with NETVO technology offers some innovative features that can’t be found in other brands, it falls a tad short of the mark. Don’t expect to experience the best of Web TV – channel selections are pretty basic and not as robust as other brands that deliver more content and greater selections.
There is no free trial or 3-day trial that some of the other services offer. So you are left with no option to test the software on your computer first to see whether or not it works. In addition, you don’t get to see exactly what countries and channels are included.
At times, you will experience some blurred picture and ‘choppy’ video. However, this is to be expected with many of these products whether they are totally free or paid for.
* Some picture blurriness and ‘choppy’ video (same as other brands)
* Not Mac OS X compatible
* Lacks channel selections compared to other brands
* Some channels may not play when wanting to watch them but may work later on
* Not the best Internet TV experience
* No links to popular web-based media browsers like Hulu and Joost
Price & Refund
Price. The regular one-time fee is set for $49.95 USD and includes a lifetime membership but don’t worry if you live outside of the US, Clickbank’s secured order page will allow you to choose the currency for your country. Just visit the Satellite PC Pro 5.0 website and click the “Download Now” button to visit the order page.
60-Day Money Back Guarantee/Refund. This guarantee is honored by Clickbank and it’s iron-clad which means you are in good hands with them as your payment processor. They handle all sale/refund transactions, so don’t ignore their email when sending it to your inbox — it’s sent immediately after making a payment and will have your order number with instructions, and a link to visit the customer order page.
Clickbank can be contacted via email or phone if you have a question or issue concerning your order. You can also look up your order and request a refund via email or phone.
Don’t contact the Satellite PC Pro service to request a refund. Some new members have been known to do this and make complaints throughout the Internet that you don’t get your money back. This simply isn’t true as I have requested refunds from Clickbank from other products and always received a full refund. Even when I didn’t have an issue with a product, I still received a full refund. New members have until 60 days after making a purchase to request a refund.
Satellite PC Pro Review Conclusion. By now, you have a good idea of the pros and cons, what areas this software service package is lacking and excels, and now you can base your decision on what you’ve learned.
That said, this product may fall a tad short of what’s available out there but might serve to be a solution if the user doesn’t ask for too much, other than to watch some favorite TV shows, sports, movies, news, and listen to radio and music from one location.
The Satellite PC Pro 2012, version 5, with NETVO technology still has room for improvement, which the service seems to be doing that at the this review of Satellite PC Pro was written. Also, keep in mind the 40% discount when making a purchase to download this software.
You are better off pursuing the discounted 40% off price at $29.95 rather than paying the full price of $49.95, and with the 60-day money back guarantee being iron-clad (no questions asked) you can feel more at ease. This Concludes Our Satellite PC Pro Review!
How to Get 40% Discount @ $29.95

Visit the Satellite PC Pro 5.0 site HERE. When you get there close the website as if to go elsewhere. A popup window will appear that says “40% Off Special.” Click “OK” then click “Stay on Page” and you are left with a window that shows the $29.95 price and “Download Now” button.
