Okay, by now you probably already tapped danced through all the various websites with software titled Satellite TV to PC, Satellite TV for PC, or some other product name. Yet, many of them always include either the term ‘Satellite’ or ‘Satellite TV’ just to mix you up even more. So get ready for the truth and don’t be surprised if you were right all along.

Satellite TV to PC – The Myth

Lets set the record straight once and for all so that you can truly get a good idea what all this hype really is about. You heard and seen the songs and dances on these products/services, and now the skepticism is telling you “it’s all too good to be true” and you know what that means. But stick with the top reputable Satellite TV to PC software packages out there and you will be safe.

As an user, tester and researcher of these products, I have come to the conclusion that the vast majority of these products are ‘Hyped’, ‘Over-Hyped’, and ‘Beyond Hyped’ which leads newbies excited about watching his/her favorite sport, TV episodes, movie, or whatever else on their computers.

So I’ll let you in on a BIG secret! Its’ not paid TV as you know it. In other words, you’re not getting FREE Satellite TV on your PC as advertised–especially if the software is suppose to be legal. Call it what you want… make-believe, fantasy, poor choice of words, or whatever else people do to get you to buy. At best, it’s a marketing ploy but can offer the next best thing to Satellite/Cable TV entertainment.

On the other hand, Internet TV and SatelliteTvToPc software (whatever name implied) are not regulated by the FCC or any other Government agency as of yet. I say until things are crystal clear, stick with the licensed Internet media websites and/or software distributors that make a sincere effort to uphold the law, and works within a Government loophole to deliver the entertainment to your computer. Understand, many of the laws written yesterday never included the Internet which makes things rather fuzzy today.

Just so long as the software developer/distributor doesn’t violate Copyrights, Intellectual-Property, and Digital Millennium laws. So know exactly what you are getting into before buying in. And, even if you must consult a lawyer then do that as well. But do yourself favor and stick with a top Satellite PC software or non-software packages with vendors who’ve been in the business for a number of years.

The other thing to note is when visiting a vendor’s site to explore a software of interest, you should see legal documents such as TOS, Privacy Act, Disclaimer, etc., on the website. For Example, here’s one top Satellite PC software vendor who has all the required legal documentation and tells you his software Does Not deliver any FREE paid premium Satellite/Cable TV channels to your PC.” Again, you only get the next best thing which is bad.

As a result, it’s imperative that you know what’s going on in the world of Internet TV – i.e. how it’s being used, misused, and how loopholes are being used. There’s a legal war going on out there–one you should explore.

I have been watching Internet TV now since 2007, but learned to stay away from those P2P (Peer-to-Peer) sites where people upload/download illegal media that violates Copyrights.
