Practically unlimited content delivered for you to watch such as TV shows/episodes, news, sports, and movies or listen to radio and must. But that’s not all — they also provide access to games and other content. Select TV is not free but for the price of $24 USD per year, it’s a very low rate.  Of course, some may feel why pay when there’s plenty of free content online to watch. This is true but here’s what you are really paying for…

  • Organization of tons of free and pay-to-watch streaming content
  • Server maintenance and interface design (brings ease-of-use)
  • Locates, updates streaming content
  • Built-in Powerful Subscription-Based Manager (Build Your Own Bundles)
  • Pay Per View Deal Finder
  • Support

Compared to Sling TV, which is a small sample size of cable, you are not restricted by the number of devices that can be used at once. Select TV allows you to use as many devices as you want. They also offer a lower price to get access to free-to-watch streaming content, all-in-one place for convenience. The pay-to-watch content requires a subscription fee for the content you choose to watch online.

Unfortunately, USA residences stand to benefit more when using this service. For individuals living or traveling outside the U.S., SelectTV recommends using a VPN service to watch content from subscription-based TV providers. Another downside is there’s no money back guarantee, which means no refund.

Watch the Select TV Review video to learn more about the features, benefits, including Pros and Cons to help make a well informed decision.

Will this hook up through my PS3? Sure hope so

Web TV Guy says:

Joe, Here’s what Select TV says…

“To access the full features of SelectTV, it’s best to use a laptop, desktop, or flash-enabled tablet, but mobile users on Android and iOS devices will be able to enjoy live channels, radio stations and on-demand content.” Since the platform is 100% web-based, I would also add any Internet-connected device that use a web browser can work.

Jeremy says:

Are the web base media players HTML 5 compatible? Also do the videos play in 720-1080p?

Web TV Guy says:

Yes to both questions. Google Chrome browser is considered the best web browser to watch streaming live TV channels and on-demand content online. But you can use IE, Firefox, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and some of the other browsers.

Robert Tuttle says:

how does STV compare to other streaming services such as RabbiTV etc?

Web TV Guy says:

Robert… I never heard of RabbiTV but I am aware of Rabbit TV. I’m sure this is what you meant to say. Right? Both brands were created by the same company (FreeCast). What separates Select TV from the other is it brings together both free TV content and pay-to-watch subscription-based providers.

Hi Web TV Guy,

Interesting, Thanks for sharing, would definitely get myself to subscribe to one of these. What other Brand did you reviews?

Terry S. says:

I subscribed to SelectTV last year during its “fledgling stage.” Reticent at first, I have grown to love everything their service has to offer. The UI, diversity of content, and performance has improved remarkably over time. It’s refreshing to see a new contender on the streaming market that won’t settle for mediocrity.

Anne says:

So there is no way to view Select TV on your TV?

Web TV Guy says:

Once you connect your Internet-connected computer to your TV via HDMI cable (or compatible cable), you can watch anything online on your HDTV. This means you can view Select TV on your HDTV or use any web TV service. Search this site for… connect tv … to watch video tutorials.

Do I need to use a VPN or not? Kindly let me know. BTW, very informative post

Web TV Guy says:

You don’t need a VPN service if you are in the U.S. You will need a VPN service to watch content from subscription-based TV providers if outside the U.S.
